A number of committees were set up. These included Education and Supplies, Disciplinary and Finance Committees.
Education and Supplies: responsible for disseminating ophthalmic information, organisation of lectures and seminars; advice MoH on supplies of drugs and equipment.
Finance Committee: authorize all payments to be made in accordance with the Society’s Financial Regulations; prepare and submit for the approval of the Society estimates of revenue and expenditure for the following financial year.

The Executive served for two-terms of two-years each (1990-1992 and 1992-1994).
The second Executive to follow had Dr. Michael Adu-Darko as President, Dr. Christine Ntim-Amponsah as Vice President and Dr. Edith Ackuaku (now Dogbe) as General Secretary. They served from 1994 till 2000.
The third Executive had Dr. Maria Hagan as President, Dr. Stephen Akafo as Vice President and Dr. James Addy as the General Secretary.
